Difficulty DIY? Loose tensioner/drive belt?
This looks very loose and don't know what I should do to fix it. Any advice? DIY or go to mechanic? I'm a little new to mechanic work but I've done brakes, valve cover gaskets, and cv axle replacement. This is on a toyota sienna 2007. 2GR-FE engine

Sometimes I feel slight rumbling on the pedals and I feel like it's from the tensioners. It feels like the same rythm. If it's normal then its fine to me. I also sometimes get loud squealing during cold starts. Maybe my drive belt is worn and should be replaced. But it only does it for a minute or less. I assumed it was this since I've never really taken a look at the pulleys.
With that said, I would definitely try replacing the tensioner. If you can get the part number off of AutoZone's website, or other parts houses, then you could try looking for it on flea Bay. Quite often, you can get it much cheaper.
If im not mistaken this tensioner also doubles as the ac compressor bracket or is bolted behind the ac compressor bracket. Id agree it needs to be replaced, but id argue its a difficult diy not an easy one.

I've seen good tensioners bounce around like that before. Worst case, you take the belt off and replace the tensioner and pulley. There is a slight chance it may bounce again also. I'm not saying it will, I've just seen it happen before.
Not easy lol. The tensioner goes under the ac compressor and needs to be removed for access. A right bitch if you not experienced to working on cars.
it’s probably fine. they are supposed to move. check belt tension with engine off
I’d guess the harmonic balancer/crank pulley is starting to go bad.
Easy diy. Replace it. E: check rockauto for kits. I'd just replace all and the belt while you're in there. Likely all starting to show wear at this point
They always bounce a little bit, but yours seems a little excessive. I'd say the spring is worn out.
All tensioners bounce like that it’s normal. When you start it up and it’s making the noise, spray some wd40 on the belt and see if it goes away, if it does than that’s ur noise
