[Routine Help] Mark left 1+ year after lesion removal (biopsy confirmed as scar tissue) – How would you incorporate treatment into a routine?

About a year ago, I had a lesion (suspected to be a dermatofibroma) removed. The biopsy results came back as scar tissue (scarring). Over a year later, the site still hasn't returned to my normal skin tone, leaving a lingering reddish/hyperpigmented mark. Since it’s been this long, I feel like natural healing has pretty much plateaued. I’m looking to build a better approach for this. If you were in my shoes, what kind of routine, products, or procedures would you recommend introducing? I’d love to hear your thoughts on: Active ingredients or OTC products worth adding to a routine In-office procedures (like lasers or peels) that might be worth looking into General scar management tips that made a difference for you Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Since it's already been over a year and the biopsy said it's definitely scar tissue, I'd probably focus on fading the mark slowly instead of expecting a quick fix. FIRST OFF, see a derm. then a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen every morning because UV can keep scars looking darker. At night, something like The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% or a gentle retinoid a few nights a week might help over time if your skin tolerates it. Just introduce one new product at a time so you know what's working. If the scar hasn't changed after all this time, it could also be worth going back to your derm and ask about treatments like laser or microneedling. Those usually make a bigger diffrence than creams alone. Just don't expect overnight results because scars can be stubborn. it's skin damage, so it's very hard to change its appearance.
