I have a concrete porch with a slab that is sunken in about an inch on one side right in front of the door. I'm looking for advice on how to repair it. Specifically do I need a break up the existing concrete for the patch to adhere to? And what is the best material to use for the patch? Ultimately, I would like to paint the entire porch. Thank you. https://imgur.com/a/GEyhGrx

Just get it lifted with foam or have it mud jacked to lift the slab. I wouldn’t patch it. It will look terrible and the sinking problem will continue..

Okay thanks!

FYI - We got a quote to have a company foam fill our uneven walkway. It was $10,000. Needless to say, it's still uneven.

What's under the slab? If it's just dirt, there are companies out there that can raise concrete slabs by pumping mud or foam under it. You could just get that sunken section raised to be level with the rest, caulk/seal, and paint.

How big is the porch slab

If it's actually sunk, patching won't hold, the void underneath is still there. Get it foam lifted instead, it's not expensive for one slab.
