HEPA or Carbon cabin filter
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm buying a cabin filter replacement, getting a spearhead one, and I see it has a normal I think carbon layered filter and then a HEPA version for like $4 more. Just curious if theres like a reason to not get the HEPA?…

Just curious if theres like a reason to not get the HEPA? My friend said the carbon maybe does better with odor. Though my priority is pollen and whatnot since I get pretty bad allergies. 2016 Ford Fusion Ecoshit 1.5 for rule 8

Some cars will get a noticeable increase in amperage load on the blower motor with those HEPA filters.
HEPA filters are a gimmick when the HVAC system is not sealed. Tldr but unless basically every molecule of air entering the cabin is passing through the HEPA filter and never touching atmosphere between Blower & Cabin, it's not functioning as intended. Activated Carbon is fine.
