So, i am a creative director of an indie game i can’t tell yet. And i was tasked to create the grand lore of the game, so i just scrabbling to get inspiration, but chatgpt keeps saying ‘based on your scenario’, ‘according to your description’, ‘within the established’. Ive told it to stop calling it that and pretend its real, i told it to save the setting on the memory aswell, but it keep saying that, even worse now, it feels like it’s gaslighting me and starting to say that 2-3 times per request. Is there any way to get around it? Or its just this stupid now? It keeps throwing me off of my imagination because of this called out. It’s not a serious problem tbh because it’s just about me trying to find the mood, i am gonna write everything manually in the end, but its just so annoying.

Restart like deleting the memory? Idk if it can fix this, it seems like the new model are intentionally trying to not allow you to create a story, yk.. after so many scandals about people got carried away by their own delulu..
Like I would start a new chat that doesn’t have any memory. Then in your first prompt, you need to recap anything that was valuable from the old chat as well as give context on what the chat is for. Tell it what you need it to do and what it’s “truth“ is. If you tell it not to call it a scenario it will only see the word scenario and will repeat that word. Just like a little kid if you tell the kid not to eat the chocolate it’s going to remember that there’s chocolate.

I see. I'm not trying to be mean, but yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense to expect free products to be that good. I assumed you were using the free tier because I just can't picture a thinking version (especially Medium or High) repeatedly making this kind of mistake.
All right, so you’re gonna have to restart. Be assertive about what the situation truly is. Don’t tell it to act. Just speak facts about what your reality is for it. Don’t use any phrases about scenario or situation. If you even hint about not using a certain phrase, they will use that phrase because it’s mentioned even though you said “not“ If you walk me through what you’re trying to do, I’ll help you write a prompt
What model is it, Instant? Are you using a free account?
Perhaps use something more than the instant model. As a creative director, perhaps watch some movies, history documentaries, podcasts, read some books then go to AI with your notes.
Instructing ChatGPT to avoid a word keeps re-injecting that exact token into its attention window every turn.
