Is Subaru basically my only widely available reliable option? I love older Audi wagons but I’m scared of those, also considering VW alltrack but used they’re overpriced and I like Volvos but the XC 70 are big gas hogs

New Subaru Outback and Toyota Crown are both classified as crossover SUVs. If you're looking used, the Buick Regal TourX and the Mini Clubman All4 are worth tossing in there. VW also made the Golf Sportwagen (non-Alltrack) with AWD, which might be cheaper. If you're chill going older, Volvo made smaller V50 wagons (with optional AWD). The 4 cylinder ones are slightly better on gas than the V70 based wagons. The 5 cylinder models are about the same though.

Subaru doesn't make any wagons anymore after the outback redesign (although many people don't consider the last gen a wagon either).
Na I’m looking for used. Trying to keep it around 10k and I prefer manual so nothing too new
What's your budget? If you're in the US and looking new, there are fewer choices every year. Subaru no longer makes any wagons, Audi discontinued the A4 allroad leaving just the more expensive A6 allroad and avant, and Volvo is done making wagons after 27.
Have you seen any Toyota Crown Signias in person. Check all your boxes, but pricey.
Subaru kinda owns that segment but the mazda3 awd hatch is worth a look if you can live with less cargo space
