We had brake Pads replaced a few months ago. He drove thru a deep puddle on Saturday. There is now a grinding noise that sounds exactly like it did when brake pads had to be replaced. There was no sound before the water. Now he’s going to a mechanic. Any ideas on what could have happened?

How much will it cost you think? A few hundred?
Depends on your location, what shop you take it to, and whats actually going on. I'd expect at least $100-200 for them to even look at it
Water and brakes don't mix well. Probably some debris got stuck between pad and rotor, or the backing plate got bent and is rubbing. Nothing major usually, mechanic will sort it quick
