At a loss with a basement window we replaced during a remodel. Started leaking not long after replacement. Replaced the window again thinking it was a bad window. Leaks still coming in.
Window has been reflashed, caulked/sealed multiple times. At a loss on what to do. The window we replaced was the original window from the 50s on a ranch home. We even put one of those plastic window covers. Still leaked yesterday. We are finding the leak…
Window has been reflashed, caulked/sealed multiple times. At a loss on what to do. The window we replaced was the original window from the 50s on a ranch home. We even put one of those plastic window covers. Still leaked yesterday. We are finding the leak coming in at the corner of the wall on the floor, closest to the window. We tore out all the drywall around it besides the wall directly under the window itself which is unfortunately tile now, and don’t want to tear out that wall too, unless we absolutely have to. is there something I am missing regarding replacing old original basement windows?

The soil/rock/grade inside the window well should slope down as it goes away from the house. Also, make sure gutters on the house are working properly.

Since two windows have leaked, I’d stop assuming the window itself is the source. Hose-test in stages: grading and window-well drainage first, then the sill and each side. Water showing at the floor may be travelling behind the wall from somewhere else.
