Games crashing after an upgrade
i upgraded my pc from ryzen 3 1200 to ryzen 5 5600xt but nearly all of my games are crashing after 2 or 5 minutes of playing. i checked my cpu temp and its sitting at 70 degree celsius on desktop. tried to reseat my cooler and reapplying the thermal paste but…
i upgraded my pc from ryzen 3 1200 to ryzen 5 5600xt but nearly all of my games are crashing after 2 or 5 minutes of playing. i checked my cpu temp and its sitting at 70 degree celsius on desktop. tried to reseat my cooler and reapplying the thermal paste but same thing. also im having memory errors is that caused of cpu overheating? my cooler is wraith stealth amd the same that i used with my old cpu. searched the web and it seems fine running it with my new cpu partially SOLVED : changed my min and max cpu power to 80 and 90 and its working fine

if its at 70c while not running anything, its either bad contact or small cooler. that new cpu isnt some insanely power hungry beast so id heavily lean into bad contact or not enough paste, maybe you didnt peel the plastic cover from the plate?

You didn't install your cooler right, or it's dead.
Memory errors? Run MemTest, XMP could be failing.
run memtest
The stock coolers can be a bit tricky to install. Make sure all four screws are threaded into the backplate. 70°C idle is definitely not normal.
Is that 70c idle on desktop or under load. If it's when idle, then your cpu cooler is either dead or you didn't install it right.
