Loose washing machine drum
Washing machine vibrates badly when on full spin. When pushing on the drum can see that it is loose. Any guesses as to the issue?

The drum is fine. Youre either not level with the legs (under the washer) or your suspension that HOLDS THE DRUM is loose or failing. Or you are over stuffing it. When you put clothes in, is there at least 6 inches of free space above the pile of clothes? If clothes do not have ample space to move around, they wont clean properly and the machine will struggle. (The most common issue for washing machines is people over stuffing it and causing the motor and drainage pump to over work and shorten the lifespan of the machine.)
The floor under the counter isn’t level so have have adjusted the legs countless times- have always thought it was this. But when I pull it out and balance it still get the shaking when it tries to spin. It’s fine with light clothes but the moment I add a single towel the shaking starts
I would suggest reading your owners manual on how to load clothes and how to level the washer. If you follow the manufacturers instructions and still have this issue it's probably your shocks going bad. Unbalanced loads are normally user error.
I’ve had it for 2 years, the issues only started when I moved. The floor underneath the worktop isn’t level but have tried levelling countless times and putting a piece of plywood underneath with no difference. I’ll get a professional to take a look
A professional?!? For money?!? In this economy??? Well, if you come to your senses, I’ll bet even more now that one of the little springs or shock absorbers is broken or disconnected since it started when you manhandled the thing across town. There are also little rubber feet that can help dampen the movement but you’ll still need to get into that beast if you want it to stop shaking

You may have bad dampers as a result of user error (surface level problems, bad load choices etc.)
Haha. Not for domestic units. Industrial level ones are..... with overbuilt bearings and bolted on to a foot thick reinforced concrete base
Every washing machine drum is loose like this. And for the vibration it’s difficult to diagnose without seeing it
Supposed to do that. Is it a new machine? One time, I left one of the stabilizer bolts used during shipping in the machine and ran it. It was obvious that something was wrong. Start taking off body panels until you can see the stabilizers for the drum. One of them may be disconnected, broken, or just worn out. You can find the manual for the machine online if you didn’t save it in your file cabinet.
It’s supposed to be free moving ! Sometimes you have to balance your clothes or towels so you get an even spin !
The last front load machine had cement blocks as counter balance; never again
