I can get golfs and jettas pretty cheap in my area and they can last a very long time also easy to work on. People are scared to buy German so prices are usually cheap. Just find a independent shop to do your work on it
Bro the mk4 golf with the 2.slow engine is basically unkillable, my friend has one with like 280k miles and still running. just watch for rust since you're in florida with all that humidity
I sold my last 2.0 running with around 240k miles. The 1.8t is great too my current 1.8t engine in my a4 is at 238k
Older Mazda 3s, between 2011-2016 I notice are often are in this range. Pretty great reliable cars, parts are cheap, easy to work on.
Any Mazda 3. No rust down south so you've dodged a prominent issue.
