Laptop Recommendations? $1,500 USD Budget I'll be starting college this fall, majoring in Accounting and Healthcare Administration. I'm looking for a laptop that can comfortably last me at least 4 years. I'm open to both new and certified refurbished options if they're a good value. * Country: United States * Budget: Up to $1,500 USD (I'd prefer to stay closer to $1,200–1,300 if possible.) * Screen Size: Preferably 14", but 13–15" is fine. * Weight Limit: Under 4 lbs if possible. * Purpose: School, programming, and everyday use. * Form Factor: Standard clamshell laptop. * Intended Usage: Microsoft Office (especially Excel), lots of browser tabs, some light coding, Linux (dual boot or full-time), virtual machines if needed, and general productivity. No gaming. * Desired Battery Life: 8+ hours. * Most Important (highest to lowest): Reliability/Longevity, Battery Life, Performance, Weight, Size. I have been looking at: * Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 (AMD) * Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 (AMD) * Other ThinkPad T-series models My Other Needs: * Minimum 32 GB RAM (or upgradeable to 32 GB) * 1 TB SSD preferred (512 GB minimum if upgradeable) * Excellent Linux compatibility * Durable build quality that will last 4+ years * Good keyboard since I'll be typing a lot * Easy to repair or upgrade if possible Are the newer ThinkPad T-series still the best option for my needs, or are there other laptops I should consider? Also, if you've bought a certified refurbished ThinkPad, how was your experience compared to buying new?
