I’m saving to get a my second ever car. I currently drive a 2001 Chevy Impala. Really cool car to me. My budget would be around 4k to 7k. Obviously it will be secondhand. My knowledge about cars is close to none. So what brands/models would you recommend in that budget? What should I be looking for in terms of miles? Titles? Etc. I’m thinking on a SUV or similar, or reliable car for winter. P. D I would appreciate if you have any tips when buying from a car dealer

at that price range look for toyota or honda with around 150k miles, check for rust underneath especially if you in winter area. avoid anything with salvage title, they can be nightmare to insure
Got you ! Thanks. How many miles could I add if I find something similar to what you mentioned?
At that price and where you're coming from the Buick 3.8 is perfect. Low mileage and grand pa took it for an oil change every month. Private sale.
What's going on with the Impala? With the stated budget, you might be dealing with a "devil you know" sort of situation where you're better off spending some money and fixing up the Impala (which it sounds like you like) than opening a can of worms potentially with a different cheap car. Unless it's getting really rusty, I'd recommend atleast considering the repair vs replace option.
