Where’s your home airport? It makes a difference for knowing which transfer partners and lounges, and hence which credit card set up, is best for you. You def travel frequently enough for a premium travel card. Citi is best for AA and great earning rates and transfer partners, but has poor customer service. C1 VX has great earning rates and international transfer partners. Will you be saving points for the one big international trip per year or for domestic?

Sfo would be the nearest for me. With my frequent fly I think best thing is to ear point for international with cash domestic no?

Open Autograph seems like a good move imo, since I will have to spent all my points first before transfering out of chase. Will consider it. Thanks

Yes for sure definitely save points for international and pay cash for domestic to earn the points. I might go Citi Strata Premier for all travel, groceries, gas and dining with Citi double cash for catch all. Too bad you can’t get the custom cash for 5x on grocery or something, since they discontinued it. But you can earn a lot of points regardless and Citi has really solid international transfer partners. If not, go C1 VX with Amex gold or C1 savor. The nice thing about Citi is that since you have a travel card and a cash back card, you can call them to pool your points together and then either transfer them for travel or cash them out at 1cpp for cash back, so great flexibility.

For domestic airlines you might want to stick with Chase unless you fly mostly on AA, which is Citi's exclusive partner. However, the CFU is useless because it only earns 1.5X on non-category spending, and since domestic airline redemptions are nothing special you're better off earning 2% or 2X. For no cost, you can simply PC your CFU to an OG Freedom and get the Wells Fargo Autograph card so your Active Cash card can earn transferable points. Another option is to add the Citi Strata Premier and Double Cash instead. It's going to cost a $95 annual fee, but if you fly on AA a lot it could be worth it.

I don't think you spend enough to justify Amex. Capital One is only good for international flights. Citi would be fine if you fly American, but since SFO is your home airport, you're more likely to be on United or Alaska. I recommend getting Autograph or Autograph Journey to pair with Active Cash. Wells Fargo's redemption baseline is 1cpp, and your top spending categories are covered.
