So I wanted to Build a new PC but when I looked at Performance Reviews and stuff and I am unsure if I need to. So I was wondering what you people think since Upgrading from AM4 to AM5 is abit pricy. Right now run an: - AM4 MPG B550 Motherboard - CPU Ryzen 7 3800X - 2x 16GB Ram at 3200MHz (1600MHz ), no idea what it means with 1600Mhz in brackets. - AMD RX 6900 XT - SSD Kingston Snvs1000g for Windows - SSD WD Black SN770 1TB as a second ssd - PSU Cosair RM1000X, so 1000W I would Love to hear some feedback Edit: So from what I saw, just getting an CPU with X3D really should boost my games. Now its just waiting for the next Paycheck and I will Prob get a 5800X3D. If Someone has another part in mind that needs an upgrade let me know^^

It depends on what you want, do you feel you are not getting the desired performance from your system? In any case you don't have to go AM5, you can grab any of 5600/5600X/5600XT/5700X/5800X/5800XT and get a decent bump. You can even get near regular Ryzen 7000 performance with a 5800X3D.
Yeah but if they're playing most games at 1440p then a 5800X3D is definitely not warranted, imo (unless they also play CPU-intensive games like Cities: Skylines). A 5800x will do just fine in AAA, Esports, etc..
Only you can decide that. Are you getting acceptable performance in the applications and games that you care about?
If you are asking, then you don't need I have a 2600 570 4gb and plays all games I want In my case, i probably should get a 8gb gpu but we will see
Best answer I've ever heard, upgrade when your current system starts having trouble playing your favorite games. Honestly you've got a really great system there.
An X3D processor would help with games and their performance/stuttering
Obviously it depends on your needs, wants, and resources. Speaking for myself, I think your system is still pretty good. Unless you've just got plenty of money and want to upgrade for fun, I wouldn't be looking at going AM5 as expensive as things are now. I might consider upgrading the CPU, especially if you game and can find an AM4 x3d CPU for a reasonable price somehow. I've also seen the 5700x and 5800x super cheap a few times and that would get you a little bump in performance. One of my computers had just about the same configuration yours does but a 3600x instead of 3800x and I upgraded it with a 5700x I found on sale for ~ $100. That was a no brainer. It looks like those are running more than double what I paid right now, but if you found a deal like I did it's worth while.

I upgraded from a 3700x to a 5800X3D for better (1440p) gaming performance, and it gave me about 20-30 FPS more on average with a Radeon 5700XT. I later upgraded the 5700XT to a 7800XT, and FPS doubled overall. When I upgraded to AM5 & a 7800X3D, my FPS again jumped about 30% or so. With your CPU & similar power GPU, you should expect to see similar gains as I did (depending on games etc.) So if gaming is important and you want more FPS now without a full upgrade, the 5800X3D is your best option. Then save up for a full upgrade to AM5, and the upcoming 10x series of AMD CPUs & GPUs, and you'll see an massive upgrade.
