When should I start SaaS?
I have an idea in mind. My idea sounds really good and should be profitable and helpful, however I have never build a SaaS before. Should I have very clear idea of what my SaaS should do or should I start building it before I understand how it will work?

Even if my idea is hard and has never done before?
Bruh. Validate the idea with actual customers. You’re trying to build a business, not an art project.
I know that my idea will have a lot of users, everyone complains about this
Yeah. With AI, the cost of testing and implementation is a lot cheaper. So it's not going to take as much as it would have to come up with the MVP or take it a step further and create a full SaaS with an admin portal that can handle what you need for your business.
That’s not what validate your idea with actual customers means.
Would you pay someone to manage all marketing autonomously for you for cheap? If you had a SaaS, mobile app or even a physical product?
Thanks for the motivation

You need enough clarity to know the problem and who pays for it, not a finished product map. Start with a sharp problem statement, then talk to people who have that pain before you write much code. Complaints online are weak proof; ask if they would switch, pay, and how they solve it today. Build a thin slice only after that, and let real usage refine the rest. Full specs up front usually waste time. Validation first, then build.
Bruh Keep your phone down Get a paper/pen Write down the main feature you want to offer. Draw the simplest UI. Implement it today. Ship it by weekend. Spend 3 weeks on marketing... And you'll know from there. You never know, maybe you are depriving me off your amazing app. Learn from Nike
Develop the idea as you build.
neither, start by talking to the people who actually have the problem your idea solves, before writing a single line of code just ask them how they solve this issue today and how much time it takes them, it will instantly clarify exactly how your saas should work
Go hire a ux/ui designer do some mock-ups and then sit with people that have this problem and see if it solves it. Everybody has an idea, you're starting a business. Sit with the professional designer and make sure you don't scare people off with some AI slop.
There's no one correct way to build SaaS. Start building it asap - you'll learn a lot faster that way.
Ideas cost nothing unfortunately. And the chance your would fly is near 0 if you never launched anything before. So answer yourself first - does your idea have a competition? If yes - that’s a good idea. If not - it’s probably is not. (Yes you want to believe it’s a unicorn of course tho) The reason why - if there is no competition, there is no money also.
not really. just build it super simple, one features, one thing which actually works, and then reach out to customers to validate it. you'll have plenty of time to build as you do marketing & distribution. users are the best ones to tell you what you should actually be building. you're building for them not for you (i used to build for myself before..)
If you have to ask this question in public. Don't build it. Pitch your idea to someone, who can build it, and let him lead.
Start by finding 1 person who would pay for what you're going to build. Get them 100% on board... find out how much it's worth to them. Price it as if you already have it built... charge them for operations - not build. Then you have a real product idea. Now... understand who they are and why want it. Why don't existing solutions work for them? Then look for other people who are in a similar position. How big is this market you just found? Is the market big enough to justify the effort in hunting them all down? How hard is the sale? What will it cost to get them all on board? Then, if that all makes sense... build the thing. That's easy these days. Don't sweat it. You can probably ask claude to do it. If it's a hard problem it might take you a few months. Get customers while you build. Preregister them. Starve your competitors of good domain names. Dominate threads on this topic. Come across as a helpful expert. Don't spam. But be the knowledge base people come to. Then launch.
Hey man, congrats on the idea! Before you write a single line of code, go talk to the people who are complaining.Just because people complain doesn't mean they will actually open their wallets to fix it. Ask them how they deal with the problem right now and if they'd pay $X a month for a solution. If a few say yes (or better yet, pre-order), then start building immediately! Good luck!
I believe you need to have a foundation. You need to know what the product should do initially and then iterate. It’s hard to visualize the product from start to finish right at the beginning. You start with the foundation you have and refine it over time.
