Should I get sn8100 2tb without heatsink over the sn850x with heatsink to use with gigabyte x870 motherboard for a 73 buck difference? (3000 egp)
It seems to be not a whole lot more expensive but a whole lot faster. I know that the speeds are so high that it'll likely never be used unless I'm working really intensive tasks but I don't know

I'd love a 2tb ssd with dram as I'll be using this for gaming and computer engineering undergrad work hopefully but the sn850x is the cheapest 2tb dram ssd I can find in my country of Egypt
It's not faster at the things you will use it for. It's for huge files like video editing. you'll never see those speeds. I own both drives.
For gaming DRAM isn't particularly helpful. Host Memory Buffer (HMB) is essentially the same performance as local DRAM. Confirm that your engineering applications actually benefit from a DRAM cache before spending money on it.
You can just get an aftermarket heatsink. As long as you have good airflow it won't be a problem. That being said, I'd still get the sn850x, heatsink or not.
Yeh but that’s still a lot of power drawn and heat generated for benefits that OP probably won’t take advantage of.
i think the bigger concern is the sn8100 without a heatsink because they generate quite a bit more heat than PCIE gen 4 NVME doesn't seem at all a viable thing to consider unless u get the sn8100 with a proper heat sink / fans
What are you using this drive for? For gaming both of these are more expensive than you need.
