Looking for some advice on a 2019 Volvo XC60 T5 PCV replacement. The car has 99,000 miles on it. Just purchased it recently and had it pre inspected. The inspection found oil leaking at the lower air intake boot which they diagnose as a bad PCV. I did the glove test and it indeed has a very strong suction at the oil fill opening (even wants to pull the oil cap down). I’m capable of replacing the PVC assembly at the top of the engine, but my concern is about the oil that leaked down to the boot. I can’t raise my car to get under it and clean that out. My question: is there any concern to leave the boot alone and not clean any oil that may have leaked down there after replacing the PCV assembly? Anything else I’m not thinking of or missing? I appreciate the advice and hope to save some money making the repair myself.
