I've been looking into Durable for building a website and I'm curious if anyone here has actually used it. Their idea seems to be an AI generated site in under a minute, which sounds almost too good to be true. Would love to hear from anyone who's actually built and launched a site with it, especially if you've used it for a real business rather than just testing it out.

That is a big statement when you don't know what the guy does. If you are looking for your next generation of brochureware, rock on; you will never outgrow it. If you are running a transactional site, maybe, but not likely. I had done WordPress for years, I also worked on my car, back when that made sense. Start with the right tools for the job and think about if you want to take on another job and learning curve or use an automated builder. Don't expect perfection, think completed.

It’s pretty crazy these days huh, and now the markets flooded with AI sites everywhere

Claude Code or Codex on the $20/mo plan can get you a website up and running very quickly and as a bonus you won't be locked into any platform or service. It's worth noting that there's a lot more to a website than just what you see, like accessibility compliance, tracking, working contact forms, etc. That said if you are someone's that's willing to DIY the barrier to doing this is very low.

Agree with this, you can do it yourself way better than anyone trying to sell you anything can, for free and fully customizable so you can actually work GEO. If you're willing to roll up your sleeves I have a walkthrough on YouTube, Eric Grows Companies is the channel, happy to answer any questions you have and help Edit: typo

I have not used it so I cannot answer your actual question, and I build in this category, so weigh that accordingly. The thing I would want to hear from someone who has launched on it is not about minute one, it is about month three: when you need to change a price, add a page, or replace a section the AI never thought to generate, is that still a minute or does it turn into a fight. Generating a decent looking site quickly is the easy half now, and it is the part every tool in this space demos. Worth checking whose name the domain ends up in and what leaving looks like too, since that is a bad thing to find out later.

durable and similar AI site builders are fine for a placeholder but they lock you into their platform and the sites tend to look generic. if you're serious about the business, you're better off with a custom WordPress site or even just a well-configured host with a clean starter theme. AI-generated sites don't give you much room to grow and you'll outgrow them fast if the business takes off.
