Frequently asked questions
What this first UNMET index contains, how it was cleaned, and what the numbers mean.
01Where do these needs come from?
This first dataset is a snapshot of public posts and comments from r/MacApps. Every brief links back to its original Reddit source.
02Are posts translated?
No. Interface text is fully available in English and Simplified Chinese, while community content stays in its original language to preserve meaning.
03How are comments attached to a post?
The cleaner uses Reddit post IDs to group every collected comment under its post. Known reply relationships are preserved; missing thread metadata remains marked unknown.
04Why do some metrics say “not provided”?
The scraper exported richer metrics for only part of the dataset. UNMET keeps absent values as unknown instead of presenting them as zero.
05Does the comment count equal Reddit’s total?
Not always. The dataset often contains only a sample of a larger thread. Detail pages show collected and reported counts separately whenever both exist.
06Can I use the data through an API?
Yes. The API exposes searchable, filterable, paginated demands, category statistics, and source evidence for each demand.
